Solgaard products are designed to move with you through daily routines, long-haul travel, work trips, weekend escapes, and the in-between moments that make life feel full. Our warranties are built around that same belief: good design should reduce friction, not create more of it.

Solgaard warranties cover qualifying manufacturing defects under normal use. Coverage varies by product type and applies to the original owner or original recipient with a valid Solgaard order number and checkout email address. For purchases made through an authorized retailer, valid proof of purchase is required.

Warranty Coverage by Product Type

Luggage: Limited Lifetime Warranty

Solgaard luggage is covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty for qualifying manufacturing defects under normal use.

Covered components may include:

  • Wheels

  • Handles

  • Locking mechanisms

  • Closure clasps

  • Zippers

  • Plastic outer shell

  • Missing rivets or screws

This warranty applies to luggage used for its intended purpose: transporting clothing and small personal items.

Bags: 2-Year Limited Warranty

Solgaard bags, including backpacks, weekenders, and similar soft goods, are covered by a 2-Year Limited Warranty for qualifying manufacturing defects under normal use.

Covered components may include:

  • Zippers

  • Hooks

  • Handles

  • Straps

  • Buckles

  • Interior and exterior fabric

  • Stitching

  • Locks

Closets & Closet Components: 2-Year Limited Warranty

Solgaard closets, replacement shelves, and closet components are covered by a 2-Year Limited Warranty for qualifying manufacturing defects under normal use.

Covered components may include:

  • Closet shelves

  • Zippers

  • Pullers

  • Clasps

  • Attachment points

  • Stitching

  • Structural components

  • Other closet hardware or functional parts

Closets and closet components are intended to be used as organizational systems for clothing and small personal items within compatible Solgaard luggage.

Accessories & Electronics: 1-Year Limited Warranty

Solgaard accessories and electronics are covered by a 1-Year Limited Warranty for qualifying manufacturing defects and functionality issues under normal use.

Covered products may include:

  • Watches

  • Solarbanks

  • Select accessories and electronic components

Accessories and electronics are not designed to be submerged in water unless specifically stated on the product page. Watch batteries are not covered under the 1-Year Limited Warranty and may require periodic replacement.

What Is Not Covered

Solgaard warranties do not cover damage caused by normal wear, travel mishandling, accidents, misuse, or use outside the product’s intended purpose.

This includes:

  • Cosmetic wear and tear, including scuffs, scratches, dents, stains, discoloration, or surface marks

  • Airline damage, including bent frames, crushed corners, punctures, cracks caused by impact, or transit-related mishandling

  • Accidental damage, drops, impact damage, or cracks caused by mishandling

  • Lockouts due to forgotten combinations

  • Damage from misuse, neglect, improper care, or use outside the product’s intended purpose

  • Damage from overpacking, excessive weight, improper loading, or force beyond the product’s intended capacity

  • Closet damage caused by improper installation, removal, hanging, or use

  • Rips, slashes, tears, spills, stains, or fabric damage caused by use or handling

  • Scratches on metal components

  • Unauthorized repairs or modifications

  • Commercial, rental, resale, or non-personal use

  • Lost, stolen, or discarded items

  • Watch battery replacement

Damage that does not affect the product’s function is considered cosmetic and is not covered under warranty.

Airline Damage

If your luggage is damaged during air travel, please file a claim directly with the airline or travel carrier as soon as possible.

Airline damage is not considered a manufacturing defect and is not covered under Solgaard’s Limited Lifetime Warranty. Common examples include bent frames, crushed corners, cracked shells from impact, broken components from mishandling, punctures, or other damage caused during transit.

Replacement Parts, Repairs & Warranty Resolutions

For approved warranty claims, Solgaard may repair, replace, provide replacement parts, reimburse approved repair costs, or offer another resolution depending on the item, issue, and part availability.

Replacement parts may be available for select components such as wheels, locks, zipper pullers, handles, clasps, closet components, straps, buckles, and other functional parts.

Part availability may vary by product model, size, color, collection, version, and inventory availability. Solgaard will confirm the appropriate resolution after reviewing the claim.

For minor repairs, Solgaard may provide a replacement part or approve a local repair with a written quote. Repair reimbursement must be approved by Solgaard before the repair is completed.

Warranty Shipping

Solgaard covers standard shipping for approved warranty resolutions when shipping is necessary and when the shipment is within Solgaard’s supported shipping regions.

In some cases, a product may need to be returned for evaluation. If the issue is determined not to be covered under warranty, the customer may be responsible for return shipping or non-warranty repair or replacement costs.

If you have moved outside of Solgaard’s supported shipping regions, replacement items, replacement parts, or repair-related shipments may not be available to your current location. Additional international shipping costs, duties, taxes, customs fees, brokerage fees, or related charges may be the customer’s responsibility.

How to Start a Warranty Claim

To start a warranty claim, contact Solgaard Support with:

  • Your Solgaard order number

  • The email address used at checkout

  • A brief description of the issue

  • Clear photos or video showing the issue

  • A photo of the full product

  • Proof of purchase, if purchased from an authorized retailer

Warranty claims should be submitted within 30 days of discovering the issue so our team can review the product as accurately as possible.

Once submitted, our team will review your claim and guide you through next steps.

Authorized Retailers

Solgaard warranties apply to eligible products purchased directly from Solgaard or from an authorized retailer.

Products purchased from unauthorized third-party sellers, resale marketplaces, secondhand sellers, or sources without valid proof of purchase may not be eligible for Solgaard warranty coverage.

If you purchased from an authorized retailer, please include your receipt or proof of purchase when submitting your claim.

Warranty Review

All warranty claims are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

If the issue qualifies under the applicable warranty, Solgaard will determine the appropriate resolution based on the product, issue, and part availability.

If the issue falls outside warranty coverage, our team will let you know and may recommend repair or replacement options where available.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary by state, province, or country.
